Le Buns

Inspired by a desire to create comfortable, eco-conscious every day essentials that are still effortlessly sexy, feminine and enhance your natural ass(ets), Le Buns offers the intimates and swimwear you have been searching for.

In a market plagued with excess consumption Le Buns strives to inspire you to choose well and buy less and consider how you can reduce your clothing and textile footprint. Australians are consuming and discarding textiles more rapidly than ever with 6,000kg of clothing sent to landfill every 10 minutes - that makes us the world’s second largest consumer of textiles. We buy an average of 27kg of new textiles each year only to then discard 23kg into landfill - two-thirds of these textiles that are man-made synthetic/plastic fibres that may never breakdown.

Founded in 2016 in Melbourne, Le Buns is an independent business that is driven by a passion to help stop this issue, and here's how they are doing just that ...

Organic Cotton
Did you know that conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world? It is estimated that each year cotton producers are responsible for the use of as much as 25% of the world’s insecticides and more than 10% of the world’s pesticides. These toxins are harmful for not just the wearer, but farmers, workers and the entire wildlife eco-system.

Le Buns underwear is made with 'Global Organic Textile Standard' certified organic cotton that offers significantly reduced manufacturing waste and toxins compared to conventional cotton. Plus organic cotton is more resistant to shrinkage, fading and graying than conventional cotton; it is super soft and feels luxurious; it doesn't irritate skin; and it naturally prevents the growth of bacteria.

Regenerated Nylon
It is estimated that 640,000 tonnes of fishing gear is dumped into our oceans each year. A study of 870 nets recovered in the US alone contained more than 32,000 marine animals. The World Animal Protection Society estimates that entanglement in gear kills at least 136,00 seals, sea lions and whales every year.

Le Buns luxurious and highly versatile swimwear collections are made of a durable nylon that comes from 100% regenerated materials collected from landfills and oceans. Every ton of fish net recovered and regenerated will produce enough yarn for 26,000 pairs of bikini bottoms!

Ethically and Sustainably Made
Le Buns has a strong respect for the people they work with. They work exclusively with boutique family owned facilities that conserve water and energy use, and take the time to make sure that the people who produce their fabrics and collections are treated well. Le Buns founder Keisha Dessaix visits and works from the factories to design each collection and ensures she knows exactly who is making the garments, that their workplace and standard of living is satisfactory, and that they are paid fairly.

Timeless Designs
Le Buns create collections that are designed with longevity in mind, are versatile, timeless and feature flattering silhouettes that will last for years to come.

Eco-Friendly Packaging
Each order is packed in a biodegradable box made of recycled paper and doesn't include any unnecessary packaging or marketing material.

Free Washing Bags
Le Buns provide you with a free wash bag with each order. They will allow you to take extra good care of your intimates when machine washing - meaning they will last for even longer.

Le Buns truly is the fresh and flattering take on organic cotton underwear and sustainable swimwear you've always wanted.
