Mount Glorious, Brisbane
It takes just half an hour to drive to Mount Glorious - a natural hilltop that is part of the D'Aguilar Range and sits on the national park called Maiala.
Maiala means 'quiet place' (derived from the Aboriginal Kamilaroi people, who were the earliest known settlers to the region), and it certainly is a quiet and special place.
The Westridge Outlook is a beautiful lookout at Mount Glorious. It has views over Lake Wivenhoe and the Great Dividing Range and is home to a forest of eucalyptus trees, grey gums, tallowwoods and spotted gums.
Besides gorgeous nature, Mount Glorious (and neighbouring Mount Nebo) offers a few other lookouts and parks (including the popular Jolly's Lookout), a range of cafes, and a winery - Brisbane's Vineyard.
